“ERP” here means custom operational software for a defined set of internal processes: often inventory, purchasing, simple production or approval workflows, and the reports that go with them. It is not SAP, Oracle or a full statutory accounting suite unless a separate, explicit project says so.
Companies ask for ERP when spreadsheets hide stock, purchasing has no approval trail, or managers cannot see operational numbers without waiting for someone to email a file.
